Bolstering our Investment Approach

We are pleased to share our news regarding a recent addition to the Irongate team.

As you know Irongate has two avenues to investment for our clients. The first is the St. James’s Place Investment Management Approach (IMA) that seeks to identify managers from around the globe to achieve superior investment performance; the second is our “Whole of Market” approach via the St. James’s Place Stockbroking Services.

Irongate has carte blanche to pick and choose which of those 80 or so managers under the IMA they feel best suit their clients’ needs and we work closely with St. James’s Place Investment Management in doing so. Likewise, we work alongside a team within the St. James’s Place Stockbroking Services to similarly identify a best of breed of managers to compliment the IMA.

I am delighted to announce that to assist us in this task we have recently appointed Andrew Humphries as an Independent Investment Consultant. After graduating with a degree in economics followed by twenty years in a variety of roles within Old Mutual, Prudential and GE Capital, Andrew joined St. James’s Place to head up their investment function and to sit on the Investment Committee whose responsibility it is to select, monitor and where necessary to change managers. During his time the funds under management increased from £6 billion to £120 billion.

Additionally, he was the Private Client Director responsible for the development of the St. James’s Place proposition for High-Net-Worth clients. Andrew recently stepped down from these roles to become an Independent Investment Consultant. Andrew continues to sit on the board of the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation and the Longfield Hospice.

Andrew will bring a wealth of experience to help Irongate development their unique investment approach and to marry the twin investment propositions of the IMA and the Bespoke Stockbroking Services.
