James began his career in 1987 with Brown Shipley in London before moving to Johnson Fry and subsequently taking part in the management buy-out of their financial services business.
In 1999 he left to found Irongate Wealth Management to manage the wealth of private clients and their families.
James is a Chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, Chartered Insurance Institute and a member of the Personal Finance Society.
Charlotte de Vries
Charlotte was educated at Westonbirt School in Gloucestershire and the Royal Agricultural College, after which she moved into event management.
Charlotte joined Irongate Wealth Management in 2015 and is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the firm and in the delivery of our Private Client proposition.
Charlotte was appointed as a Director of Irongate Wealth Management in November 2018.

Spencer worked for HSBC for over 20 years, looking after both corporate and individual clients, before joining Irongate in 2015.
In addition to his in-depth knowledge of investment, tax and protection planning, Spencer is our pension planning specialist helping client’s transition from work to retirement.
Spencer is very experienced and knowledgeable, and this is evident in the advice that he provides to his clients. He aims to provide simplistic solutions to otherwise complex circumstances and is approachable and friendly, taking great pride in the service that he provides.
Spencer is an Economics graduate, Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Financial Society.
Investment Planning Specialist, BA (Hons) DipPFS
Following an early career in the army, Anthony worked in corporate finance at Citibank before moving to Singapore as Head of Research at Jardine Fleming Securities.
He then became an award winning investment analyst and global equities fund manager, latterly based in Singapore with Deutsche Asset Management. In 2015 he moved back to his roots in Gloucestershire with his young family.
Anthony holds a BA (Hons) and is a member of both the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Senior Wealth Adviser, DipPFS
Kay spent ten years as a commercial manager within HSBC before moving to Jim Slater Wealth Management, a Senior Partner Practice of St. James’s Place in 2011. She joined Irongate in 2017 following the merger of the two Practices.
Kay is thoughtful and considerate and this comes across in her approach to the clients she looks after. Her in depth knowledge of the industry helps her meet her clients’ financial aims and ambitions.
Kay is a qualified member of both the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Business Advisory Specialist, B.Eng (Hons) CTA DipPFS
With a background as a Chartered Tax Adviser working for both Arthur Anderson and KPMG, James provides professional advice that makes a demonstrable difference to his clients’ futures.
James holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree with Honours, is a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation, the Association of Tax Technicians, the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Financial Consultant, DipPFS
Following a career in the Royal Marines, Gary moved into financial services in 2016 where he gained his qualifications working in the financial planning division of a Bristol based wealth management company.
Joining Irongate Wealth Management in 2019, Gary’s focus is on advising Irongate’s clients in the Bristol area as well as looking to introduce new clients to the services he can offer.
Gary is a member of both the Chartered Insurance Institute and the Personal Finance Society.
Financial Consultant, BA Hons Dip PFS Cert CII (MP)
Rhian previously worked in Government Policy and Communications before deciding to change her career into the Financial Services. She has a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies, a Level 4 Diploma in Financial Planning and is working to achieve Chartered Status.
Rhian prides herself on building strong and trusting relationships with her clients and aims to give her clients peace of mind regarding their personal financial affairs. She enjoys working with multiple generations across the same family from young families looking to save for the future and protect their assets to the older generations who wish to tax efficiently pass their hard earned wealth to their family.
Rhian’s advice covers all areas of Wealth Management including but not limited to retirement planning, wealth protection, saving and investment planning. She is a qualified member of both the Personal Finance Society and the Chartered Insurance Institute.
Lucinda worked for Merrill Lynch as a relocation consultant, relocating top executives internationally for eight years, followed by a long-standing role organising international conferences.
Lucinda joined Irongate Wealth Management as a key member of the general office administration team.

Lee joined Irongate Wealth Management in 2018 after an apprenticeship with St. James’s Place.
As a diploma qualified paraplanner Lee offers integral support and compliance assistance to the team of advisers.
Jordan Coltman DipPFS
Before joining Irongate Wealth Management in 2018, Jordan was working for St. James’s Place on a 2-year apprenticeship.
As a level 4 Regulated Diploma qualified Paraplanner, he offers fundamental support to the team of advisers and his colleagues.
Research Analyst, BSc (Hons)
Before joining Irongate, Bertie worked as a Leasing Agent for a Commercial Property firm based in London as well as completing an internship with the Private Client Division at St. James’s Place.
Bertie achieved an Honours Degree in International Business Management from the Royal Agricultural University.
Personal Assistant, BA (Hons)
Delia was educated at Rendcomb College in Gloucestershire and Plymouth University after which she moved into the Financial Services industry.
Delia joined Irongate Wealth Management in 2018 after spending some time working for a Consultancy firm in the Middle East.
