Currently the St. James’s Place Investment Management Approach consists of leading fund managers from 46 investment houses, located from London to Los Angeles, Toronto to Singapore, with responsibility for in excess of £150 billion of client funds under management.
Identifying those managers who have the potential to provide superior investment returns is the work of the St. James's Place Investment Committee whose role includes constantly monitoring those managers to ensure they maintain the standards for which they were selected. If changes are needed the manager will be removed and replaced . There is no charge to investors and as you still hold the same fund, no tax consequences either.
The Committee draws on a number of external independent investment consultancies to assist them in their role. They provide highly specialised skills that would not normally be available to private clients but which are essential if investors want to aim to achieve superior performance.
‘Creating favourable investment results depends largely on forecasting future events correctly. We believe that historic performance records offer only limited, if any, guidance, whilst manager’s ‘footprints’ in terms of their portfolio activities, investment behaviour and overall motivation tend to more reliable indicators for potentially achieving success in the future.’
The value of an investment with St. James’s Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than the amount invested.
